Who is and who is not analyzing the flight recorder

T here was significant tussle where the flight recorder would be examined. Interestingly Germany claimed it did not have the technical means to analyze the recorder ! Aparently the owner of the downed 737 max8 did not trust the US and rather handed the flight recorder to France. This left the impression that there is a significant loss of trust not only in Boeing but also the FAA, both of which resisted to ground the Plane Model in the first place.

It appears the '' jackscrew'' has been recovered and is in the position that would have made the plane nosedive.

From memory and a quick search , Boeing have had other planes crash because of '' jackscrew '' problems, but it was mainly because of no maintenance on that part. EG,, lack of grease on the nut and thread.

No, that was on MD, it had the problem the tail would lose it's trimming control once the 'jacksrew' released, resulting in a non controllable dive.

The 737 in its' early days had a problem with the rudder, it would get stuck, resulting in uncontrollable rolls. It took quite a while to figure that one out.
