I don't want to be rude to you. You need to pack up and leave. If you can't handle this situation, then your in for a long haul here in Cambodia. Return home.
Only you and her know what took place originally. At this point it doesn't matter.
If you do pay her, I'm sending several of my wife's friends over next!
"Return Home" Maybe I will start a sub-reddit called "Stupid Shit Ex-Pats Say", can't you be more original. The only reason I am posting this is to have some sort of record if needed. Arguing with anyone on CEO or an expatty in general is like fighting to get on the short bus first.
Yeah, you just proved my point. Time to head home. You can't handle it and its going to end badly. Doesn't matter if your "right" or "wrong". And what good is creating a record? You aren't in Kansas anymore.
Stupid things expats say - like your promises to her when you were sleeping with her? You aren't providing her the golden ticket and no amount of money is going to satisfy the loss of face. 5K today, more tomorrow. If she has family in the police, then there is a risk of more than extortion. And no, the embassy isn't going to help you if/when your arrested with drugs (that aren't yours and you've never seen them before and swear the police must of put them there). You'll just be referred to the local prosecutor for preparation of the trial. Likely a 2-3 year sentence. Then the price will be more like 20K - 10K for her family and 10K for the police.
Cambodia is HER home, not yours. And you better quit kidding yourself of the notion that this is home before you end up with real problems.

Cambodia is home to many people, not only Cambodians.

And 90% of the Western expats can't afford to move anywhere else.General Mackevili wrote: ↑Fri Mar 15, 2019 1:45 amCambodia is home to many people, not only Cambodians.
All this panic about her or the police planting drugs on him is nonsense. Why do so many expats have no backbone at all? You'd give any Khmer $5,000 if they say "Give me $5,000 or I'll harass you until you do?" Come on.
He should just buy some pepper spray. If she attacks him again, bam, right in the face. Nearby Khmers would laugh uproariously at that.

Brother if you were home, it wouldn 't be a concern if her family knew policemen, you could get a restraining order and you wouldn t need to tell total strangers your story so there is a record. You are in Cambodia. you may live here, you may love the country but you are not Khmer, you are naive to think otherwise. Have you looked at Thailand, the Philippines or Vietnam? I am not saying the women are any less psycho but you must have learnt something out of all this.slimshady wrote: ↑Fri Mar 15, 2019 12:03 amHome? I forget but is this the same dude who didn't want to tell her family what she is doing?/ over some bullshit rationale???? if so, tell her family what she is doing... speak with her friends and family and explain politely what is going on.slimshady wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2019 11:39 pm I got locked out of my account and can't get back in, I am the OP. Things have heated up a little. She has come by my job again, but this time they just told her to leave. Her message to my school is that she will find me wherever I am in Cambodia. This past Saturday she waited for me as I left the synagogue. Her sister, her and about 15 neighbors were also waiting and watching. They don't like her when she comes around, and they know all about what she has been doing. She proceeded to attack me, rip both of my shirts, took off her shoe and was hitting me with it. It really took a lot not to hit her, and if I was back home I would have done it and been justified. My hotel was around the corner so she followed me and now is talking shit to the hotel manager. Now the hotel wants to kick me out. I won't bore you with details about that.
The new development is that she wants $5000 for her 'investment' in the relationship. Still not sure what to do about this, but someone suggested I pay her or leave Cambodia.
you ever go to the chabad?? ask Rabbi Butman to talk to her..lol.. but seriously, reach out to her family. You have gotten many good suggestions earlier in this thread......... bring a bar girl back to ur apartment... pay bar girl a little extra and tell her to get the crazy chick away from you because your new gf ( bar girl) will kick her ass.. or something like that..

Connected... sounds like my ex. Was driven around for the day by the former minister of finance for good measure. Thank goodness she was incapable of love, just love of money. Pyrrhic victory to settle things out. She wanted a slave for life, but finally settled for less than that.
Best of luck to the OP.
All the above posters have good suggestions.
