but all the above holds true for Thai's, Laos and Burmese.
so what makes Khmer different?
A few of the basic differences i see ;
the BS & costs you need to go thru to get married and the many clothes you need change into
The way they deal with traffic and police stops ( zero respect)
The number of Generals in the army
pray tell, whats the point?
Khmers are better / different than other SE Asian's?
Their not..... they just have a darker past
BUT Burmese,Thais and laostions have been fucked over as well..
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

The OP's question, Richard, "what do you think are the best traits of Khmer people?"
[Nothing there about how Khmers compare with their neighbors]

Genuine friendliness and acceptance of foreigners..
Re: now the other side of the story
Khmer people seem more intelligent in general compared to my Norwegian countrymen I am sad to say. No one sees what is right in front of them there, but the khmers have eyes that penetrates their entire city. They are not fools like uss I love em for it.

Here. I mean no one sees what is right on front of them in Norway.

Khmer people are tough as hell ...and very kind to me in a way that feels authentic..
ps...Stop hating on Norway... don't blame the victims.

Re: now the other side of the story
That might apply to Oslo but definitely not Trondheim.. surprisingly enough.
The Khmer are good at making you realize that long term planning is often times nothing but an additional source of useless stress.
The Khmer are also very good at texting and driving. I could and would never ride a moped in PP while texting. That's a death wish.
Re: now the other side of the story
Also it may be true to me but not to you. If we knew each other I miggt fimd you to be slow but you might still disagree. But yes it's true to me. Norwegians ate mostly spoilt and they don't see what is right in gromt of them like they are polite but then completely blind to each other. I love them of course, but I still feel this is at least oartly true.

Khmer people are not blind to each other. They will see through your bullshit. But they are very polite to

Re: now the other side of the story
But I didn't mean to say the Norwegians are stupid, not all of them at least. And you either of course. It seems I just have a way with offending people today. In bad spelling to.
Halt and catch fire.
