Legal Threat Against Cambodian Actor Dressed as Prisoner for Funny Video

Phnom Penh, Cambodia News: On March 6, 2019, Mr. Nut Veasna, a spokesman and deputy director of the General Prison Department , threatened to take legal action against an actor named Ouk Sothearak, who used a prison uniform to make a funny video on Facebook.

Mr. Nut Veasna said that the action of the actor was crazy and disrespectful of all officers who are following the policy of the government regarding the use of telephones in prison. He esteemed that the video would confuse the public, and also it was an insult to the honor of prison officers and the entire prison department. He also said that he would take legal action if the actor didn't apologize and publicly acknowledge his wrong-doing.

The actor and his two friends subsequently made public apologies for their video to the Prison Department and the people of Cambodia. .

Not to branch too far off topic but as a former military member, this grinds my gears.

I'm of the opinion that there is somewhat of a lack of esprit de corps, integrity and general standard of conduct in the uniformed services here.

...but could they, at the very least, have some uniform standards?

I've never seen a three star shoulder board arranged this way in Cambodia.

Can someone enlighten me or is this guy just a knucklehead?

@ Brody. Considering the topic, I wouldn't criticize the uniform of the gentleman in question.

I think he looks great btw.
