Bangkok to europe flights cancelled

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Via china or india looks best option but priced are going to be mental and flights longer
You could still try via Middle East, or Hong Kong. Those all overfly different areas.
You cannot get to the middle east from here without overflying pakistan. Roiutes via china are ok, they use chinese airspce. Read the BBC story. Other airlines are rerouting around but tta means fliybs over iran and extra refuelling stops for scoot which goes non stop to athens fro sgn

well you could go vis australia, fiji, usa uk and so on. The normal flight route from se asia is through the conflict zone. 800 flights a day cannot all use the alternate routes though sri lanka and mubai. Thai airways was late to the party and there is no more room. Bo idea who else is affected so bad. Dcoot and singapore are adding extra refuelling stops .

all the china airlines fly to Europe over china
and thai is now using Chinese airspace
THAI usually flies over Pakistan’s airspace when going to or returning from Europe, but after the closure, the carrier had asked for authorisation to fly over China’s airspace, the airline said yesterday.

Flight Lieutenant Pratana Patanasiri, THAI’s vice president for aviation safety, security and standards, said the national carrier has received permission from authorities to fly over China. However, he said, the permission was granted on a daily basis, so the airline needs to update the situation daily.
Also, he said, flying over China actually cuts the flying time down by 20 minutes.

I wonder why that is. The distance is exactly the same. Maybe the speed?

possibly. The story was Thai was abit slow getting in the game and the southern routes round pakistan were full. Diverting over china makes sense if the chinese will play.
Also i was booking a flight while this was going on and all the cheap flights disappeared. Presume prices when up with everyon chasing replacements fro Thai Airways cock up and also extra flying hours to avoid the conflict zone.
