Hearing test for toddler in Cambodia?

Post by pczz »

Khmer friend has 2 year old not speaking yet. It seems he can hear but maybe only certain frequencies and he is very focused on what he is doing. Before fretting over dire possibilites want to get his hearing checked but no idea who can do a proper test on a kid in Cambodia. Anyone know anywhere please?

Google "Phnom Penh audiology pediatric" returns such info as
"In Cambodia, hearing tests are offered at public and private hospitals, but not at health centres and hospitals, where children are born. This puts children unnecessarily at risk of further hearing loss and eventual speech impairment." quoted from http://unicefcambodia.blogspot.com/2018 ... g.html?m=1
Another hit from the same search mentions
All Ears Cambodia, a local UNICEF-supported NGO.
Certainly, information is for the taking. I detect a passive tone in your post.
You can take the initiative. Make an appointment to test the kid's hearing.
