UK Hostel Owner, Joe Morrissey, in a Coma in Sihanoukville

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

I prefer a land cruiser over a pick up. Life isn’t a request show. If they love their son, they should take a loan from a bank instead of begging for money.

It's not a good situation.

I wish the guy health.

None of us know the full story.

He could be denied insurance on a technicality.

Wear those helmets please.

Where does it say that he wasn't wearing a helmet? Was that reported somewhere else or is that just an assumption that people on here are making?

It's not a gofundme set up for a fucking stray cat, this is a human being in a coma with friends who probably would like to help him and his family out in this time of need. That's a legitimate reason to put up a gofundme, that's not begging.

It may have just been an oversight so i wish the dude well.

I do not understand though if u have the money to start a biz but need a gofund me account for hosp bills, maybe sell the biz n get air lifted back home. I'm just tired of all these gofundme accounts where peeps have money to do things but lack the resources to handle the mundane. Gofundme = glorified modern begging (when the cause is bs that is but thats a matter of perspective...)

I've not seen anything but assumption that he wasn't wearing a helmet.

However, there's helmets that actually help when you crash, and helmets that are worthless.

Buy a decent safety passed full face lid. Street or dirt style.

Yep. That link works..thanks. Altho that's not the one I was originally thinking of..can't seem to find that one.

Anyway, it's wise not to opt for a cheap helmet and get one with a euro safety standard or equivalent.
