Re: First British Passport
Firstly I'd like to say congratulations Bubs!
Anyway, as you know I'm not from the UK but have many friends from there. It's only in rare cases that the embassy will require a DNA test (and I doubt very much you need one of these expensive procedures), if all your other paperwork is in order and the child is under your name on the birth cert that is usually enough. For my country I have to send a notarized translation of the birth cert too.

Silence, exile, and cunning.
Re: First British Passport
when you first use the passport you have to get an exit stamp in it from immigration. i cannot remember exactly but i think it takes 3 working day to do and is only valud for a week. They need birth certifcates and notarsed permission for the child to travel from the parent who is not travelling if you are not both going. airlines reqired this as well twice before boarding on way to europe. think it is supposed to be free. ha bloidy ha expect to pay up to $100 if you need it in a hurry
