Not to mention that the kilowatt per hour is among the highest rates in the world.Kammekor wrote: ↑Thu Feb 14, 2019 4:52 pmBut rents in Phnom Penh are above London level in some parts, and that's before Brexit level.pczz wrote: ↑Thu Feb 14, 2019 2:01 pmQualifier - I do not expect to pay $3.50 for a coffee in cambodia. Brown also make an acceptable flat white too.
Edit:
Yes, there are lots of places purveying crap coffee, like Metro.

Australia only has a low rate because it adds on a line maintaince charge and a service fee on top of your electric bill

Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.

Well, at least the seem to maintain the line in Australia..... Just wait what will happen to the high voltage lines connecting Laos to Phnom Penh in let's say 10-15 years when it turns out the money reserved for maintenance was spend on eh.... Cars, gambling, girls and beers. The four things spicing up Cambodian life.Duncan wrote: ↑Fri Feb 15, 2019 7:29 amBig'n wrote: ↑Thu Feb 14, 2019 9:12 pmNot to mention that the kilowatt per hour is among the highest rates in the world.Kammekor wrote: ↑Thu Feb 14, 2019 4:52 pmBut rents in Phnom Penh are above London level in some parts, and that's before Brexit level.pczz wrote: ↑Thu Feb 14, 2019 2:01 pmQualifier - I do not expect to pay $3.50 for a coffee in cambodia. at a Cafe in England you would pay between $1-2 for a cup of coffeeJoker Poker wrote: ↑Thu Feb 14, 2019 4:33 pmLast time I was in PP, March last year, it was $2.50 for a flat white at Eric Keyser. If prices are dearer than that then inflation is out of control. To be fair, you could pay the same amount for that bloody awful Boncafe stuff all over town. I found EK to be the best by a country mile, and have no problem paying $2.50.

Maybe at a greasy spoon in the north of England for a cup of Nescafe, a coffee at a modern cafe in London will cost far more.Jamie_Lambo wrote: ↑Fri Feb 15, 2019 1:11 pm

In the 'Low Lands' of Europe I pay EUR 2-3,50 for a cup of coffee. All staff have minimum wages, medical insurance, etc etc yet I pay nearly the same as in F*cking Phnom Penh where staff are on a 200$ / month slavery contract. Just imagine the profits in the KOW.Jamie_Lambo wrote: ↑Fri Feb 15, 2019 4:13 pmjust quoting what i pay, i dont go to posh fancy modern cafes in London, and modern cafes in London dont represent the whole of EnglandJohn Bingham wrote: ↑Fri Feb 15, 2019 3:28 pmMaybe at a greasy spoon in the north of England for a cup of Nescafe, a coffee at a modern cafe in London will cost far more.Jamie_Lambo wrote: ↑Fri Feb 15, 2019 1:11 pm

brexit has hammered the uk property market. Shop houses in many tourist areas of PP are only around $1000-$2000 depending on your race.Kammekor wrote: ↑Thu Feb 14, 2019 4:52 pmBut rents in Phnom Penh are above London level in some parts, and that's before Brexit level.pczz wrote: ↑Thu Feb 14, 2019 2:01 pmQualifier - I do not expect to pay $3.50 for a coffee in cambodia. Unless you're living like a king, you're paying way too much!
$500-$1000 will get you a serviced apt with a gym and a pool.
