Sorry Richard, didn't mean to offend in any way, let me explain the click bait comment:

The tables in the link are not 5ft tables, they just use the "5ft" to get get people from Google or internal Alibaba search to click on the link.

https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/ ... 63899.html

That is a 9ft table.

https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/ ... 14563.html

That is a snooker table and some pictures of other 9ft tables.

This is a 5ft table:

https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/ ... 40744.html

I will take a look at the two snooker clubs mentioned, thanks.

Tom.

I think $600-$800 is nearer the mark. they dont last five minutes. kids climbing on them, toiurist puking on em and so on. Really cheap to have them recovered here too. Apart for a few serious pool clubs they are just a prop for chatting up bar girls and bars wont pay much for them

Hi Pczz,

Yeah, I see what you mean.

To be fair our tables come with a solid 5 year warranty on the hardware (the frame and the slate), you would have to go at them with an intent to destroy as opposed to just being drunk and not giving a shit to cause any real damage. But if the perception is that they will fall apart then I guess most bar owners just won't want to get involved, regardless of price.

In some ways it's a shame though, the main one being that pool leagues don't yet exist - they are a core part of expat life in many countries around the World and offer an easy way to get out and meet other expats in the local area.

There may be demand in the newer, upscale spendy bars - this is where I will focus.

Many thanks to all that have replied.

There are pool leagues and proper pool clubs. There is a pool hall behind sorya mall and a glass fronted one at the top of 113 near sihanouk. i know rich khmer go there by the flash cars and number plates. Sharkys had a lot of pool tables but they seem to have disappeared when new management took over. Sorya mall had a lot of pool tables inside but most of them have gone too. probelm is a pool table needs space and space is bloody expensive in pp now, over $4000 sqm in some areas, maybe $8000 by now. to have aleague you need regulars and there seem far fewer of us all year rounders since they changed the visa system and made people have work permits. There are loads of shops repairing, building and recovering pool tables, but most are far from flat. Its just for fun. maybe your company could start a chain of pool clubs and kick it off :-)

Hi Pczz,

Again, thanks for the info. Just reading up on the work permit thing, wasn't aware of that...

So the table's in Sharky's are gone? That's a shame, I had a few good nights on those tables.

Do you know the name of any of the pool leagues - the people that run them seem to be pretty good at hiding them from the internet, I can't find anything at all on Google...!?

No chance of me opening a pool hall Cambodia, been there and done that in Thailand, never again!

The more feedback I get the more it looks like the market will be mainly moneyed Khmer, so I just need to find a decent, reliable installation team and we're all set to give it a go... :beer3:

Cheers,

Tom.
