Sihanoukville Casinos
Sihanoukville Casinos
Has anybody here actually been to any of the casinos in Sihanoukville?
What was your impression and how did they compare to other Asian casinos that you have been to?
Apart from a couple of trips to Macau, where a kiwi friend is a VIP GRO, most of the gambling dens that I have been to on the Mainland have been sordid underground places. I had some Spaniard friends in Shanghai who were professional poker hustlers targeting Chinese no-hopers and I enjoyed hanging out with them for a while, a few years back.
I am guessing that the Sihanoukville places are more like Korean places than their European counterparts. Even when I was working back in the UK there was always a big difference between clubs favoured by locals, and the darker dingier clubs (even though they were often exactly the same brand) that were filled with over excited Hongkies screaming "Pik-Char!!" Oops, I am show my age now.
So, how are western guests treated in Sihanoukville establishments? I generally dress well and can speak good Mandarin but do not want to be refused entry just because I am white. Is that likely to happen?

Yes you can very much enter any casino in sihanoukville ( although one time they blocked the door, preventing me from entering, but maybe it wasnt yet open to the public. It was at jinbei). But you will get lots of weird looks from the staff, just curious to see you here).
Except casino offering poker. You will see lot of westerners there.

Thanks for the heads up.
I thought that Jinbei was one of the largest, is that right?
Do you speak Mandarin?
Or did the staff speak English to you?

I like gambling although I think it’s poison, but Iam just human. Once i was playing poker in a casino in Bratislava. I asked if the language at the table was English, the dealer answered “don’t worry”. As I am a naive person I started playing. Ofc no one talked English. I asked the dealer if he is fooling me. He said don’t worry no one will cheat, while everyone was talking during running hands like they were chatting like old ladies. I just left , lost maybe 50 euros. When I come to comb I will try some casinos and let you know. I also played with Chinese in a casino run by Chinese, in Austria. They didn’t chat Chinese but the only one loosing was me so I left. Lost 100 euros. But I also played on trustful tables in Austria and won but also lost. The bad thing is I want to try the casinos in a country. The good thing is I stop when I lose a little

The guy who runs Jinbei is a Hongker, Benson is his name, be surprised if they would stop international guests entering, it's a giant throbbing penis in the middle of Shv, it's going to attract a variety of people. There's some big money behind it. When did you try and get in, fwooar?Moltisanti72 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2019 8:20 pm Yes you can very much enter any casino in sihanoukville ( although one time they blocked the door, preventing me from entering, but maybe it wasnt yet open to the public. Did Benson introduce himself to you or did you know him already from Macau?cptrelentless wrote: ↑Fri Mar 08, 2019 4:11 am The guy who runs Jinbei is a Hongker, Benson is his name
I thought that he was SGP rather than Honky but I might be mistaken. Easy to get the two mixed up sometimes.
