Why no luxury SUVs??

This is a part of our Cambodia forums to chat about anything Cambodia-related. This discussion forum is at the top of our site because it's usually the busiest part of the expat community chatter with random topics on just about everything, including expat life, Khmer politics, Cambodian blogs we have or have come across, or whatever else our members want to discuss. Whether you're an expatriate, tourist, Cambodian or random traveler just passing through South East Asia, you are welcome to talk about anything or start new topics yourselves.

Why no luxury SUVs??

Post by wolfcreek » Sat Feb 09, 2019 11:17 am

I spent the last two weeks in Laos and northern Thailand and didn't see a single large Lexis or Range Rover SUV there (only 2-3 of the smaller ones). Nor did I see any Rolls Royces, Bentleys, Porsches, Lamborghinis, etc. Are they that much poorer than Cambodia?

Hugely expensive in those countries but plenty of Lambos and Rollers in Bangkok.

I usually do a 6=7,000kms road trip each years thru thailand, also an Cambodia from Phuket thru the north and around
seldom ( maybe once or twice) have seen high end SUV's EXCEPT in Cambodia
There are few Porsche's, Range rovers and ferrari's here in Phuket
