ENT Doctors in Cambodia?
ENT Doctors in Cambodia?
I have a serious ear problem and have visited Preah Oun Duong ENT hospital in Phnom Penh. Then have booked me in for surgery but I am quite frightened. While everyone was perfectly nice and my CT scan was written in perfect English I only met one doctor who was eating lunch and said we do these surgeries every day but his attitude was so offhand. My ENT in Siem Reap said no, go to Vietnam. My usual doctors clinic said these guys do ENT every day, hundreds of surgeries a week, what are you frightened about?? My fear is there is a facial nerve that will be close to the surgery and if they cut that I will have facial paralyze for life!!! Any advice or recommendations??

Go to Sunrise Nipponese Hospital on Chroy Changvar.

This was posted on Cambodia Parents Network not too long ago. I don't have first hand experience with this place though.
I can understand your concern, maybe Dr. Kuroneko will be along shortly with better ideas.
I highly recommend Sun International Clinic for ENT’s who are Japanese and top-notch. They fly in every month from Japan and you can make appointments in advance. You can find out more info from their website at: http://siclinic.com/en.

Re: ent doctors
Given the Sunrise Clinic and Hospital mentioned here have Japanese doctors with associated qualifications, wouldn't an expat here with an illness or accident choose these as their first port of call rather than the Royal Phnom Penh Hospital??
My gut feel would be yes...but what do others think?
I guess one would also have to be guided by what your medical insurance company instructs in these situations too...

I suggest you go back in time and ask yourself ,,, What has caused this problem ? Have you been listening to all those lies being told.
Go to Vietnam , Thailand, KL, Singapore , anywhere but Cambodia.
My '' sister in law ?'' had a baby delivered by cesarean about one year ago at Preah Oun Duong . The baby died and I asked for a medical report of the baby. Surprise,
surprise, the one sentence khmer report ,,,translated said ''heart stop ''
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

Horror stories about what, essentially, is extortion taking place at Royal abound.
Sunrise might just be the best hospital I've been in, in terms of aesthetics, facilities and competency of nurses and doctors and various specialists.

Yes, there's been a few stories like that on this forum too which led me to think Royal may not be the best place to go..Jerry Atrick wrote: ↑Fri Feb 08, 2019 7:26 pmBig yes from me.clutchcargo wrote: ↑Fri Feb 08, 2019 6:34 pm Given the Sunrise Clinic and Hospital mentioned here have Japanese doctors with associated qualifications, wouldn't an expat here with an illness or accident choose these as their first port of call rather than the Royal Phnom Penh Hospital??
