Bangkok Air Pollution

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

It is such a terrible condition for Thai people,
Wishing the people in the Land of Smile’s air will get fresher, so that they don’t need to wear mask and they can show their poisonous smile( Joke).
Do anyone have any idea of AQI in Srok Khmer?

Sorry but I find it pretty hard to feel sorry for Thailand about this. The people maybe but their successive governments who were responsible for planning and quality of living standards...no. They've allowed/brought this on through no foresight and poor or no planning. When you consider the population of BKK is 10 m vs Thailand 69 m, the huge influx of people to the big smoke (pun intended) to chase the almighty $$$ has been unbridled. The Venice of the East is no more and they've filled in the canals to cater for the roads. The car is king and all the Thais aspire to having one. With the exception of the BTS, public transport sucks. And now they find they have a health problem...oh dear! Actually, the problem was there back in the 80s already and now it's much much worse..

You could of course say the same about Manila, Jakarta et al. OTH places like Singapore tax the hell out of car ownership yet it's a breeze to get around with great public transport....shows what can be done when governments are determined to plan ahead.

There's an old joke around that if another country wanted to invade Thailand, the army might not stop them but BKK traffic certainly would..

Wow where did that come from on the topic of Bangkok haze? You do hate the Chinese don't you?
Not chinese in general, but the gun toting, meth dealing, triad ones who are raping this country I have a problem with. They are not the same as the chinese I have met anywhere else. Seem like a different species altogether
