Ooops. That is why I do not put money on bets.
Wise decision.

Well, that was a nasty game, with Qatari fans being pelted with shoes during the drumming the UAE got. Never mind that any support for the Qatari team could have gotten you 15 years in jail. Long live democracy.
Qatar beat hosts United Arab Emirates 4-0 to reach the final of the Asian Cup in a game that witnessed UAE fans throwing shoes at opposition players.

The home fans threw bottles and sandals as Qatar players celebrated their goals during the game in Abu Dhabi.

The Qatar national anthem was also loudly booed by home fans amid political tensions between the nations.

Qatar has been cut off by some of its Arab neighbours, including the UAE, over its alleged support for terrorism.

"It wasn't an easy situation," said Qatar coach Felix Sanchez.

Japan v Qatar: Yoshida urges calm ahead of Asian Cup final
Japan and Qatar progressed from highly charged semi-finals to earn their shot at Asian Cup glory.

Experienced defender Maya Yoshida has called for Japan and Qatar to show their continent’s football in its best light during Friday’s Asian Cup final.

Japan stormed past tournament favourites Iran 3-0 in their semi-final, although their opponents’ star forward Sardar Azmoun slapped Gaku Shibasaki to spark a melee during the closing minutes.

Qatar prevailed 4-0 in a highly charged encounter with hosts United Arab Emirates, with the ill-feeling between the two Gulf states manifesting as supporters threw shoes at Qatari players celebrating goals.

“I don’t want to see any stupid things after the game because we are really representing Asia,” Southampton defender Yoshida told reporters.

“We have the hashtag #bringingasiatogether, so it’s really important and beneficial to all the Asian countries to represent Asia by playing good football and with fair play.

“I expect both teams to play with 100 per cent effort, with fair play and to make a good game and show all over the world how we play.
