Martial law declaired in Thailand! NOT ITS a MILITARY COUP

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

I don't use Twitter but that's usually a good way to follow events like these. Is there any fighting going on in Bangkok?

I am planning to travel to Northern Thailand via Bangkok on Sunday, you think there will be issues travelling from BKK to DMK?

I heard they have closed down the land borders and not letting Thai Nationals out, and potentially causing issues with Foreigners. Any truth to that?

Update: NOW it's a coup.

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/m ... itary-coup
Thailand's military has seized control of the country and suspended the constitution after rival factions failed in negotiations to end six months of political turmoil – resulting in the nation's 19th coup in 82 years.

Another coup in clown town! Did anyone expect anything else? I sure didn't. Thailand makes the most ridiculous of banana republics look respectable.

On the links they're saying that Internet might be cut at 9 PM. Since you posted the above after that time, then clearly that was not the case.
So, how about now? Still have internet?

What about telephone services? (just tried to call the bro in bkk, rang a couple of times then got some kind of recorded service message).
