12 years, seems all they have done is pave the streets
everything else remains the same; motorbike repair shops, rickshaw drivers, markets, sugarcane sellers
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

It's 13 years, and I'm shocked by your lack of observational skills. The city has changed an incredible amount in that time.

Sidewalker, Love your old photos, but you have another post of old photos from 2005,, perhaps admins could merge the two together ?

Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

No problem, but I decided to do it in parts, otherwise you got a big post.
I have a lot more pictures of 2005 and I like post some more. Maybe they can merge them later when I'm
finished posting.

I've been living here since early 2003 and these photographs are really nice to see and make me feel nostalgic about the country I fell in love with. I have no doubt that I to have changed over the past 15+ years but Phnom Penh has lost so much of her charm, at least for me. While 'progress' is inevitable I always maintained it was fine as long as the people did not change. Unfortunately they have, and not for the better.
