Chinese Navy Ships to Celebrate New Koh Rong Naval Outpost

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

I think I know who you are on FB and if it’s you you’re pretty racist towards anyone not white.

If it’s not you I unreservedly apologise but you still come across as having a very blinkered one sided view. Have you just arrived or are you a part time expat?

Still there but....

That’s pretty insensitive generally but more so seeing as there’s probably people who went through the Thai and Indo tsunami on this board.

There’s still lots of accommodation for them although at the moment not as much but there’s more of them now, as I alluded to earlier.

They certainly mostly earn more now than the $120 the expats were paying them.
For wages, I highly suggest you check out the Chinese forums, they are constantly trying to figure out ways to pay less. This idea that people are raking in the big bucks is rediculous. Service staff are being hired at $120 or even less whe they can be. Chinese nationals are mostly lucky to be making $600 per for a foreman type position. The only ones making rake are the money launderers and the land owners. Many Chinese nationals are very unhappy with the current status quo, there is a large amount of random stabbings/robbings by young Khmer gangs that go unreported because Chinese are skeptical of police wanting to help them. There was over 30 stabbings in a 2 week period in December and only 2 got reported to police.

No, those truck drivers are getting $2500 a month.

Johnny
Go and speak to one of them.

As an example of the wages, my wife is earning $1000 a month working for the guy who owns Jin Bao casino (he's Hong Kong Chinese) in his lighting shop. She gets free accommodation if she wants it.

I'm not on fb, so definitely isn't ME. Also, I'm not white so not sure you are going with this.
