Wedding Day Two.

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Wedding Day Two.

Post by newkidontheblock »

Ceremonies start early.

DJ from last night still asleep in the hammock when the make up started and the next days clothes rolled out.

One of the chickens was sleeping on the decorations and had to be kicked out (sorry already flew away).

The starting even is the grand walk to the brides house. Everyone from the “grooms side of the family” - in my case, fake, provided by the villagers, gather some distance away and march to the bride’s house:

Gifts to the bride are picked up and brought for the walk, including the pig.

Image

Everyone went. Most walked to the line. Some can by moto.

Image

A very long line.

At the head was I and the village MC. And at the very front, the Khmer musicians.

After the grand entrance, comes the introduction of the bride to the groom

The other big event of the day is the tying of string and pelting of seeds for luck.

String is tied by all well wishers.

And the the bride and groom is pelt from seeds from the ? Palm stalk.

Did I mention the photos shoots? Between each ceremony, a new change of clothes and more photos shoot. Day one. 5-6 outfits. Day two, maybe more.

Now onto the wedding dinner. My least favorite part.

I gotta admit, newkid's photo montages are a guilty pleasure of mine.

Pretty cool mate, and don't mind if I do, but I must say that your wife is quite attractive....as a matter of fact, I'm having untoward thoughts as I type this. :thumb:

I get mine from Levi's in Aeon. They're expensive but they fit and last.

Are you talking about the Soriya shop on the 5th(?) floor where they sold clothes and sports gear? I hope not.

Bless
