Kampong Cham, Cambodia News: An old explosives bunker that was last used about 30 years ago was found near the provincial police station with almost seven tons of UXOs (unexploded ordnance). The arms cache, that was discovered a few years ago, has just been searched and cleared by the professionals from Unit 15 of the Cambodian Mine Action Center (CMAC).

On 27 December, 2018, the teams of experts located the hiding place with detectors, before beginning to dig in search of the arms. They uncovered a bunker measuring 440 square meters by two and a half meters deep. Nearly seven tons, more than 1,500 units of unexploded ordnances, were found inside, including over 900 shells, 20 landmines, 600-plus shell heads and over 2,000kg of small arms.

Authorities have praised the CMAC for performing such a high risk operation, removing so much dangerous material from a residential area without accident.

Pretty said when they find 7 tons of active ordinance and it takes years for the team to show up and remove them. Are they that busy to be a few years behind schedule or is it Cambodia time?
Still here, in country...
