Doctor Scuffi from Switzerland down there is very good.
His fees are reasonable.
His clinic is very modern.
He does not think cannabis is good for people.

Ok. Energy drinks are bad. That's a fact. Are they bad to the point that they would kill 2-3 people every weekend (in Cambodia, not only Kampot)? What the hell is in that decarbonated Red Bull? Meth, crack and a hint of fentanyl?
Why is this doctor focusing on energy drinks and not meth or otc valium, xanax, ketamine and so on?
The vast majority of deaths in Cambodia are drug and alcohol induced "heart attacks." Never read a single article stating "we found 20 empty cans of Red Bull in his shitty guesthouse. That's what killed him."
I've also never really seen any expats gulping down energy drinks in Cambodia. Beer and coconut water, yes. Energy drinks, nope.

if you have 6 they can kill
Re: An Open Letter from Barang Doctor on Kampot Deaths
I'm fully aware of that. A lot of the stuff found here wouldn't be allowed at Food 4 Less or Walmart... But saying that energy drinks are the main reason of premature deaths is a bit of a stretch! I spent quite some time with tourists my age (25-30) when I first moved here, and most conversations evolve around drugs and where to get them.frank lee bent wrote: ↑Sat Jan 19, 2019 9:34 am there are some concentrates that have massive caffeine doses. banned in Thailand now
I'm not trying to downplay whatever that doctor is saying. I just think he's biased and refuses to face the facts.
I've yet to read an article about 34 year old Chaz from buttfuck nowhere, TN that downed 6 cans of snake juice and died from it!

LD50 for water is a little over 5l.... THC is actually considered physically impossible to OD on due to the amount required to meet the LD50.Paracelsus wrote:All things are poisons, for there is nothing without poisonous qualities. It is only the dose which makes a thing poison
Also, Sugar and a sedate lifestyle kills far more people.
Just looking at the USA.
610,000 deaths per year related to heart diseases.
72,000 deaths per year due to drugs.

Yup - any Brits may remember the Leah Betts case when the red tops went on an ecstasy witchhunt - cause of death was actually water intoxication after she drank about 7 litres of water in 90 minutes
Valium very hard to od on too - LD50 is over 1200mg
(mix with alcohol though and that dramatically changes)
Too weird to live, too rare to die

In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST
