Finally Google “Street View” has published some streets in PP and Siem Reap. I saw that today the first time and I checked some typical streets in Siem Reap.

Just follow the street a bit, and look left and right. Do you think that this is good advertising for Siem Reap ? I mean, if a person that has never been to Cambodia sees THAT, would that person still consider a holiday in the Kingdom of Wonders

? One must honestly say that most streets in Siem Reap look much, much worse than that (some areas look of course better), but isn’t that a killer to tourism ?

There is so much construction going on there are bound to be piles of building materials heaped about everywhere for some years to come. I would think 99% of tourists are going for to SR just for Angkor Wat, so I can't imagine ruddy, dusty side streets about town will deter anyone.

Sure Soi Dog, you are absolutely right. But I mean they had now 35 years time to do something and now suddenly it is visible to everybody what they have really done. Suddenly it's visible where all this billions of Dollars have gone to.....it's a tragedy.
