They died. Together. They went peacefully and will find each other up there soon. Any gossip or horrific details (if there are any) shouldn't be posted here in the open forum.

How am I Captain Obvious? Cause of death is clearly stated for one of the persons involved. His partner died shortly after. Does it really matter if she decided to take her life to follow the one she loved or if she died from heartbreak, shock or bad shrimps? It's clear there was was no bad intention from either part so let it rest.

I apologize I had assumed, and we know what that causes, you had been around long enough to see that most deaths here are categorized as "heart attack". Slim but there's a chance they both received some bad drugs. If so I'd love for the police to do something about it such as back track where it may have come from and maybe arrest someone.

The bodies of tourists were found in the house, which they rented; no personal belongings or documents of the couple were found there. The cause of death is still unknown.

On January 4, the corpses of two Russian tourists - 69-year-old Lilia Pospelova and 64-year-old Viktor Kharlamov - were found in the kingdom of Cambodia. They were identified by a Russian citizen who had previously rented apartments to travelers. St. Petersburg residents did not have any personal belongings or documents with them.

According to data from social networks, the couple went abroad some time ago to spend the winter in low-cost Southeast Asia. According to the brother of deceased Lilia Pospelova, they took the one-way tickets.

The cause of death is still unknown. It is reported that the different versions are considered - from unintentional poisoning to suicide or crime.

Several years ago, after the financial crisis, the spouses became bankrupt - the dollar took off, and the currency mortgage they got became nothing. Before leaving, they took more loans, after which the collectors began to demand payments from relatives.

The brother of the deceased told 78.ru that on the day of Lilia’s death Viktor told his father that the couple ran out of money. On January 2, the following message was sent to the mother telephone: “Lilia left. I sit beside her. I did not call the police. I will be next.” No further details were reported.

It was also Russian Xmas on the 7th so the embassy would have been closed anyway.

The whole of Russia pretty much shuts down from new year until after Russian Xmas.

The delay is most likely on the Russian side.

The 1st to the 7th are all national holidays in Russia and the embassy was closed for the entire week.

Very sad state of affairs if what is reported is true.

Due to financial difficulties back in their homeland, it does sound they were on a one way ticket to die in paradise..as their remaining funds ran out.. RIP
