To: Ms. Marjorie Ferrer Gonzales and
Ms. Antonette Epsenilla Ballesteros
From: The directors of LAIS and KCIS:
We tried to contact you both on facebook but it seems that you have blocked EVERYONE.
Thank you so much for leaving without notice!!!
It really shows your true work ethics. We hope your future employers are treated better and are not left out of pocket as we were.
This is the second time that you have let us down and be assured it will be the last.
To All Employers:
Any future employers should be made aware of these two Filipino women about their attitudes and unreliable natures.
To Everyone:
If you see or know where these two Filipino women stay, please kindly contact us. You are rewarded a thankful pride. We need them to come to clear the debt that they owed us and other unfinished work.
Thank you very much.

What the fuck? Employees have a right to leave at any time and for any reason, with no notice. Employers have a right to terminate an employee's employment at any time and for any (lawful) reason, with no notice. How is performing work, getting paid, and then quitting "doing a runner"?

Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

Foreign teachers in Cambodia often get in debt to their employer because they get advances.
Some schools also charge teachers for textbooks that are lost or damaged.

Got my western hat on but seems odd if these schools need to advance salary to attract teachers? Is the demand so great?

And let’s not forget that watching people wash their dirty laundry in public is a great pastime out here.

There is usually a minimum notice for resignation stated in an employee's contract. This is so the employer can line someone new up for the job, and in the case of teachers to avoid disruption to students. If they just disappear overnight there may not be anyone immediately to fill in for them and records for progress/ exams etc may be lost.

If it's legal of course, but I've known of a few teachers who were wrongly dismissed here without proper notice and ended up receiving substantial awards after bringing the cases to the Ministry of Labor. I'm not talking fortunes, more like $10- 20K.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

had a lot if staff just split if they did not get December off to go back to mexico...they did not grasp it was a busy time of the year...nor did they care...
in their defense, maybe they had some issues and had enough of the ...
the article did say they had done this before....
i suspect they went home to Philippines for the holidays...
my landlord in sihanoukville sure did not care about me when they sold the apartment building and told me to get out with 7 months left on my lease...
nor has my present landlord lost any sleep having the same realtor who found me my present house in Kampot bring prospective buyers by and sucker my Khmer wife into letting them look around while i was not here...
those gals might of a good reason or just wanted to go home knowing they could find work elsewhere.
perhaps, they have no intention of using the schools on their resumes....
