Re: Russian Ahatoinn Woiehob Arrested for Overstaying Visa
The police files give the man's name as WOIEHOB AHATOINN.
Phnom Penh, Cambodia News: On December 28, 2018, at 18:30, the Immigration Department in Phnom Penh received a foreigner from the Dangkor police force for being homeless and living on the streets without having the necessary documents to remain in Cambodia.
Lt. Lieutenant Chetra, chief of the Phnom Penh Municipal Court Procedure and Enforcement Prosecutor, said the foreigner was a 58-year-old Russian named WOIEHOB AHATOINN. (Antoine Something ?)
He is currently being detained by Cambodian Immigration while they examine his case.

Further proof that no Westerners get arrested for overstay unless (a) they’re homeless, (b) they commit a serious crime, or (c) they surrender to an immigration officer.

The cops may be confusing the Cyrillic alphabet with the Latin alphabet.CEOCambodiaNews wrote: ↑Sat Dec 29, 2018 11:14 amThe police files give the man's name as WOIEHOB AHATOINN.

AHATOINN might be something like Anatoly, which is written as Анато́лий in Russian.
WOIEHOB might actually end with -nov. I have no idea about the W. There is no uquivalent of W in Russian. It could be Ж, which is the 'zh' sound. So his family name might be something like Zhoinov, or Zharinov, which is actually a common Russian name.

You are spot on for Anatoly and probably close enough for the name.
