Before buying real estate

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Before buying real estate

Post by explorer »

Anyone thinking of buying in any of the Chinese developments, watch these.

The Chinese developments in Cambodia may be similar.

If you buy something built by a Cambodian developer, it may be even worse.

I bought a house off a developer in UK. It also fell apart, cracks, plumbing, electrics all failing. 60% of the whole estate was the same.

That was from a big developer. Persimmon homes.

Bought another new house from Bovis. Same problems.

All house builders are the same the world over!

Interesting videos from 2 yrs ago.

I wonder how much of these building quality issues are unique to China or Asian countries in general?

Is Cambodia likely to be better or worse in this regard?

Haha persimmons are a terrible company done work for them numerous times, I wouldn't even buy some of the houses i even built on their sites, cheap horrible materials, site agents who are clueless, only bothered about meeting deadlines with no quality control ImageImage
