Fresh from retaking the leadership of the CNRP, he is now saying he will return to Cambodia in 2019. Going on his past record I am not convinced. However, if as some CPP officials have claimed, he is indeed in secret contact with HE, could yet another Royal Pardon be on the cards? If he did return what could he actually achieve?

Secret contact... He's sending DM to the HE Twitter account. He just doesn't know when to quit. Its beyond pathetic I feel.

His obsession with HE, will never let him quit. Unless he can come up with a new game plan, he is going to achieve the CPP's objective for them, by shattering the fragile alliance between the two factions that made up the CNRP. Of course if that is what happens he'll blame everyone but himself.

Pros-sokha leaders of the Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP), including one of his daughters, have slammed the decision of the party’s international conference last weekend to nominate Rainsy as its “acting president”, denouncing the move as a “party coup”.

However, the CNRP’s pro-Rainsy faction rejected the accusation, claiming that the pro-Sokha camp was attempting to “split the party”. They hailed the decision as a strategy to “resurrect” the court-dissolved opposition.
