We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. Boy Swimmer Dies Tragically in School Pool Drowning

Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

Phnom Penh, Cambodia News: A tragic event occurred on 19 December 2018, at the Fredfort International School, Asia Pacific, on the National Highway No. 6, Kien Khlaing Village, Chroy Changva Commune, Chroy Changva District, when a young boy drowned in the school swimming pool.

The reason for the accident is unclear; the boy's father said that his child was a confirmed swimmer, and that he's been swimming in that pool since the age of five. On the day of the accident, the child had gone swimming at the pool as usual, when the parents received a call from the school to say that he had drowned. The school had sent the boy to Calmette Hospital by ambulance but it was too late.
Very sad. RIP.
