British man WILLIAM JULIAN MAGEE Found Dead in Phnom Penh Room

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

I think some of the comments online in general are unnecessary, if anyone wants to put a go fund page for whatever reason then that’s fine! You don’t have to donate, your are not forced to at all so it’s down to choice. As it happens I knew will very well and I think it has shown to his family and friends just how much people cared for him! That has to help with their grieving, that can’t be a bad thing!! We live in a world where we too quick to look the other way, pulling together in times of grief undoubtedly helps people come to terms with tragedy.

RIP Will!! You were an amazing guy and I feel lucky to have called you a friend.

Funeral of man, 30, who died in Cambodia takes place tomorrow
By Ciaran Duggan News Reporter
THE funeral of a 30-year-old man who died of a heart attack in his Cambodian hotel room will tomorrow.(sic)

It comes after William Magee, from Colne, was found dead in the Boeung Chhouk Guest House, south Cambodia, on November 27.

The online marketing expert was sent back home last week after more than £8,500 was raised through public donations towards the £6,700 travel cost.

The remaining funds have gone towards Mr Magee's funeral, which will take place at St Bartholomew’s Church, Colne from 12.30pm.

It will be followed by a wake at the Union Exchange, on Market Street, Colne, which was one of Mr Magee's favourite bars.

Stepsister Charlotte Bradshaw, 36, from Barrowford said the support has been amazing and added: "It has been such an overwhelming response and these acts of kindness help to restore your faith in humanity.”

The British national had been travelling overseas and spent several months in Cambodia training locals about online advertising and English.
