as a photographer, am so glad i dont live in Japan
as 50% or more of my photos are of people ( children, old people, ladies, men)
i would have nothing to shoot;

http://en.rocketnews24.com/2014/09/03/d ... -on-train/Unfortunately, sometimes that special moment is a peep-shot or a scandalous photo which is certainly a violation of privacy. Japan has taken a very no-nonsense approach to help stop these highly inappropriate photos, and it comes in the form of the Anti-Nuisance Ordinance.
Anti-Nuisance Ordinance. The law is quite broad in its language, but seeks to protect one thing: the safety and well-being of women. The law states that it doesn’t matter what you are taking a picture of, if the woman being photographed is made to feel uncomfortable or starts feeling anxious, you are liable to be arrested. Even so much as pointing a camera in the victim’s direction without taking a picture is grounds for arrest.
The law also does not discriminate with the age of the woman and any female, young or old, can complain that she is feeling “shy, ashamed or embarrassed”, and the person causing that discomfort will have to deal with the police in some fashion.
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

I guess Japan is for selfies only. Sad considering its the home of so many famous camera brands.
My cousin just got stationed there, so I might visit there.

I predict a growth in those stealth 90% angle lenses, the ones that shoot sideways
