Scientist working in Cambodian jungle observes water running geckos.
"Co-author Ardian Jusufi, a biophysicist at Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems, was working in the jungles of Cambodia when he noticed that the geckos there could skid across puddles to escape predators."
"Nirody and her colleagues collected some Asian house geckos and set up an experiment in the lab. They built a long water tank, attached a plank across the top, and varied the water surface tension by adding soap. Then they placed the geckos on the plank and startled them by touching their tails. They shot high-speed video of the geckos darting across the water's surface and studied it closely."
""Our new understanding of gecko locomotion could inspire design," says Nirody, who suggests the geckos' multimodal locomotive strategy could lead to rapid swimming robots for search and rescue in flooded areas."
0.53 for gecko swimming in the wild footage.

I know, riveting stuff.

Their nickname is Jesus Gecko's.
There are people who cannot imagine that there are other ways of life than their own life.

That is not what i would call running on water.
Like saying that humans can run on water as when they swim, sorry, run on water, at times have their hands and head above the surface. That both the arms and legs never stay above the surface as would be what you normally would call something that runs ontop of something is no issue ofc.

I thought they were called ''Farque lizards '',,,, In which case their nickname should be,,,, Jesus furque lizards.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.
