Remembering LTO
Two years ago, on December 7th--Pearl Harbor Day-- a close friend died. There hasn't been much study into why and how people can grow to be friends with exes, but it just happened. So it was that my first husband continued to be like family to me.
He always called and checked on me when I was going through rough times. He didn't distance himself. He was there for me. Just the other day, I was thinking that he would be comforting me over my husband's horrible accident (neck broken in several places, a ladder fall). He had great respect for him, and always asked about him.
He would be showing concern for my dog's surgery; he loved animals himself. I miss having him in my life, and I miss his quiet sarcasm and good sense of humor. I miss having him to check in on me. I miss talking to him. He was a kind and good person, and my life was better for having him in it.

It was very surprising and sad. I didn't know who he was in real life but he had a very knowledgeable and unique take on Cambodia which I admired. I miss his input on these forums. RIP.

Two years. His death was such a shock to all of us. He will always be greatly missed as I'm sure many of us will never forget him.
