Re: US Food Week Comes to Cambodia
IMHO Cheeseburger is the one and only gift from Merica to Gastronomy, as much as I like them that’s a pretty poor record.

Could you read my post again. I am against this type of food. Did you mean someone else and simply pushed the wrong button?Moe wrote: ↑Wed Dec 05, 2018 10:07 amWhat the actual fuck? If you choose to consume that shit instead of the vast array of food styles that make up actual American cuisine, that's on you, sunshine. You're actually Australian or something, right?AB101 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 03, 2018 6:11 pm Probably the only thing I am ashamed to be an American over......food.
Without doubt and beyond any argument, American food ( I cannot call it cuisine) is the worst in the world. KFC, Big Macs, Dunkins, Corn Dogs, Wieners, the list goes on for miles. Junk, junk, junk food.

50% of what you quoted is pure junk food.phuketrichard wrote: ↑Wed Dec 05, 2018 10:22 am??AB101 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 03, 2018 6:11 pm Probably the only thing I am ashamed to be an American over......food.

Junk, junk, junk food. It's little wonder that we are one of the most unhealthy nations in the world and now we are exporting our trash to Asia. (hangs head in shame).
Prime rib, Kansas city BBQ ribs, Maine lobster, Tex Mex, Buttermilk Biscuits with gravy, Key lime pie, Philly Cheese Steak ,New England clam chowder, Thanksgiving dinner with all the timings, Chill dog, San Francisco sourdough bread, New York pizza, Maryland crabcakes, salad bars
and the list goes on and on....
Until I was posted to Germany, I thought that deep frying whole turkeys was common the world over. When some Brit friends of ours invited us to Xmas dinner I could not believe turkey could taste so good. Face it friend, American food is probably the unhealthiest in the world. Philly Cheese Steak?...it's not even cheese, it's palm oil. New York Pizza?...over 2000 calories per slice. You are on a looser on this one.

There's an old friend of mine who likes them slightly plus size, so he'll be happy. And he's from Scotland!* They are described as Dour, there. Although he's more often described as Pissed**.
*talking of food, health and internal turmoil- do you remember scotland? The land of the deep fried..(insert ingredient of choice)...
Mars Bars, Pizza slices, Hamburgers, sassenachs...
**for clarity. British usage- somewhat under the influence, as opposed to US usage- somewhat irritated.

I quite like American barbecue. Taco Bell just gives me the shits though. It does strike me as weird that when yanks go out to eat they generally go to chain restaurants, or list them as their favourites. Like chavs and their fucking Nandos.
A propos of Scotland and turkeys, deep fried Chrimbo:
Turkey dinner

Do the Scots really do that?Freightdog wrote: ↑Thu Dec 06, 2018 7:32 pm The land of the deep fried..(insert ingredient of choice)...
Mars Bars
I know those inbred toothless hillbillies in the Bible-Belt of the US do that with Snickers Bars.

When I was Married, she and I moved to Scotland for my new job. On moving in night, she suggested heading to the local chippy*, rather than cooking at home. At the chippy, she ordered a burger. The fella behind the counter informed us about the deep fried bit... she was not to be put off.Brody wrote: ↑Thu Dec 06, 2018 7:57 pmDo the Scots really do that?Freightdog wrote: ↑Thu Dec 06, 2018 7:32 pm The land of the deep fried..(insert ingredient of choice)...

I asked for the healthy option fish. Up until this point, I had discounted the likelihood of him being telepathic, but instantly I knew his answer without him speaking.
When he did speak**, he also offered me the menu, on which were described many things to be battered*** and fried.
Mars bars, pies, paving slabs...
*chippy as in Fish and Chips, not a lady of loose morals
**less a language, more a primal battle challenge
***coated in a dubious solution, to beaten to within inches of one's life
