Preah Sihanouk Province, Cambodia News: Major General Chuon Narin, Preah Sihanouk Provincial Police Commissioner, gave an interview on 4 December 2018 to refute social media allegations that Chinese gangsters are running riot in Cambodia, and in particular in the coastal city of Sihanoukville.

He said that the photos of tattooed Asian gang members which are circulating on Facebook are groups of Vietnamese thugs posted by GIA DINH VUI TINH from Vietnam, and they are not Chinese gangsters in Cambodia as some people have reported.
The police chief asked the Cambodian public to remain calm and use their good judgement when they see photos and comments on social media which attack the good name of Cambodia.
In this instance, the Cambodian Facebook rumors about gangs of tattooed Chinese gangsters were triggered by the knife attack of a lone Chinese man in Phnom Penh on 1 December : newsworthy/chinese-man-goes-berserk-wit ... 25061.html
