Drug Gang Arrested for Throwing Rocks Through Car Windscreens
Kampong Chhnang, Cambodia News: On November 14, 2018, eight men were arrested for damaging about 30 cars on the nights of 12-14 November, in Rolea Beak village, Broibou District, Kampong Chhnang.
The eight suspects detained by police are drug addicts who reportedly damaged the cars in exchange for drugs on the orders of their gang leader. From November 12-14, the suspects went out each night on their motorbikes and threw rocks at the windscreens of on-coming cars. At least one car driver was badly injured after he was hit by a rock.
After two nights of this violence, police apprehended eight men on the evening of November 14, 2018. Three other suspects got away and are being sought. The authorities confiscated some rocks and the motorbikes.
The arrested men were questioned at the provincial police station to prepare their cases for court and made to undergo a drug test.

I fail to understand why the drug dealer wants to damage cars of passerbys. if they were throwing rocks at people who failed to pay their debts sure.

When I worked in motor trade we used to remove fit new screens. Not easy and messy. You have to use the correct glue and glass metal primer. I wonder if they do a good job here or glue them in with house silicon?

How long ago was that?
Last windscreen I had changed was in London. New seal and windscreen took ten minutes. No glue involved.

Eight arrested for smashing car windshields
November 16, 2018
Kampong Chhnang Provincial Court yesterday charged eight suspected drug users who allegedly smashed the windshields of 25 cars in Rolear Ba’ier district to steal belongings inside.
Court clerk Sok Vannak identified them as Hourn Sochan, 27; Kham Chheang Mali, 20; Seng Han, 20; Um Chorn, 20; Yoeun Chandy, 18; Mal Chanrong, 17; Deoun Seiha, 17; and Sean Sarath, 16.
He noted that they were arrested on Wednesday and are charged with drug use and intentionally causing damage. The accused face up to five years each if convicted and are now in prison pending trial.
Major General Luch Vannara, provincial police chief, said that the accused often loitered at a spot along National Road 5 in the district.
He said that from 11pm on Sunday to early Monday morning the eight men threw stones at the windshields of 25 cars passing by them.
Maj Gen Vannara noted that when the owners abandoned the vehicles, the accused took the opportunity to steal belongings kept inside.
“They were gangsters and drug users who loitered at night along National Road 5,” he said. “They were arrested at about 11pm on Wednesday after the car owners filed complaints.”

Re: Drug Gang Arrested for Throwing Rocks Through Car Windscreens
if someone was throwing rocks at me while I was driving, I can t imagine how abandoning my car and running away unprotected would be the best option. My first thought would be I can get out of here quicker in a car than by foot. My second thought would be rocks don t hurt me anywhere near as much bouncing off my hood as opposed to bouncing off my skull. My third thought would be if push came to shove, I would rather shove with a car than with my arms. Fourth and final thought would be the rock throwers are starting to appear smaller in my rear view mirror. But then I have a western education.

Guilty as charged, there is no denying with this amount of evidence!
