Cambodia Or Vietnam
Re: Cambodia Or Vietnam
Definitely agree. HCMC is good for a few days, then it gets too "dynamic". Geezertown (VT) is a pleasant option but attracts about zero international tourists, so the vibe there is quite narcoleptic. Plus, there are very few real restaurants, just a bunch of bars.I love visiting HCMC for one or two nights at most. Then I need to get my old butt back to the ocean side of Vung Tau. But young business people should thrive in The City.
Central VN (Nha Trang, Hoi An & Danang) is more popular but then you have to contend with the tropical storms. Can't really recommend Ha Noi either. Mountain towns like Buon Ma Thuot and Da Lat, are another option but that's going to get boring quick. Ha Tien seems to be "up and coming" but again it's just small border town.
So, basically there are a lot of options other than HCMC but not many truly interesting fun places.

I may be going to hell in a bucket,
but at least I'm enjoying the ride.

Re: Cambodia Or Vietnam
Given a choice, I would settle for Da Nang. Sure, they get the odd storm, but apart from that it has got everything. Great beach, great restaurants, little traffic, little pollution, Hoi An 20 minutes away, Bac Ma national park nearby (for the bird watching), Da Nang triathlon, warm year round, and so on.sigmoid wrote: ↑Wed Nov 07, 2018 9:47 amDefinitely agree. i am exempt but would still have to leave every 90 days.
if you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space.

Not sure what you're exempt from but you should contact a good agent, If you pay the money and make the arrangements, you can stay for years.
If you are talking about the one-year tourist visa for Americans, even with that I have heard you can pay and stay instead of going out. Anyway, contact some agents and shop around.
Chi is just one example. She took care of my visa many years ago when I lived in Sai Gon:
