Family Outing Turns to Tragedy when Boat Sinks
Kandal province, Cambodia News: Three people are still missing after a family rented a boat for a day out on the Bassac river, at 5:30 pm on 29 October 2018. The missing victims are brothers and sisters in their teens, aged 12, 14, and 19.
The weather conditions are reported to have been difficult, and a strong gust of wind caused the boat to capsize. Two people from the boat were rescued immediately, but despite a desperate search operation, the relatives have still not been able to recover the bodies of the missing three. According to the mother, none of the children knew how to swim, or even float.
