Pattaya to aran via south pattaya mini bis, thrn shared taxi from poit pet to SR after border crossing.
Recomend a day or two in Poipet as ther is no lonely planet travel snobs there, only local thais and khmers gambling.
You will be a speciality if your white.

done the trip the other way round, its doable, land border crossings grind me now, i prefer the koh kong route now tbh with a stop over in koh kong and hit the border in the morning, still a ball ache though, its quicker/easier/possibly cheaper to fly into bangkok then get a taxi to pattaya or in your case taxi to bangkok (1000-1500 baht) then an air asia flight to SR ($30-50)

Done it 2-3 times. As Jamie said, pain in the butt. Flying was no option as we had a few hundred kilos of kitchen equipment and ingredients. Pay for "VIP" service at the border to avoid endless queues.Jamie_Lambo wrote: ↑Tue Oct 30, 2018 6:44 pm done the trip the other way round, its doable, land border crossings grind me now, i prefer the koh kong route now tbh with a stop over in koh kong and hit the border in the morning, still a ball ache though, its quicker/easier/possibly cheaper to fly into bangkok then get a taxi to pattaya or in your case taxi to bangkok (1000-1500 baht) then an air asia flight to SR ($30-50)

Re: Trip Pattaya -> Siemreap
I did this six years ago and it was fun.
First, get to Chantaburi, by bus or taxi.
Then look for the casino minibus near the KP Grand Hotel. Take the minibus to the border near Pailin.
Get a taxi at the border to take you to Battambang.
Take another taxi to SR.
If you stay a night in Battambang you can get a bus in the morning to SR.
I never saw another person crossing at that border. Delightfully quiet.
Btw, the last casino minibus departs quite early, something like 11am.
All this info is six years old!

Thank you guys
Go back to Bangkok and take the plane seems to be the good option for me.
