This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. Heading up to Kratie and catching a boat at sunset and checking out the beautiful water/landscapes whilst (hopefully) some shy dolphins peek their heads up was quite the fantastic experience for me.

I was very much impressed with what I saw around Mondulkiri if a road trip looking at the SEA scenery is your thing. We spent half a day at the falls at Bou Sra; a family day, picnic on the pallets.
You'll also see some of the ruin caused by the logging outfits, sadly.

There are some hills near Kampot that the other half has mentioned- Bokor? We shall be heading there sometime in the near future.

The jungle temples at Koh Ker. Of the 180 temples located there the 20 most signficant are easily accessible. Not the easiest location to get to but definitely worth the effort. It's about 75 miles NE of Siem Reap. The roads from Siem Reap are quite good. Leave Siem Reap early (if that is where you will be travelling from) in order not to feel rushed especially if you plan to make it a day trip.

In the south of the country Bokor mountain is worth the trip. Located just outside of Kampot, it makes for a good day trip. Beautify view of Gulf of Thailand as long as the cloud cover is not too thick.Technically, it is part of the Cardomon mountains. Because of the elevation it can be rather cool, especially if there is cloud cover. We bought food from some stalls at the top of the mountain and took it for a picnic lunch at Popokvil Waterfall located in the Bokor Park complex. The waterfall is impressive during the wet season but still worth the effort during the dry season as well.

Enjoy the trip.
