Accommodation Recommendation

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

I had an apt there too. I don't like their regular rooms - meh. I always get this one if I'm feeling flush: http://www.luxriversidehotels.com/room.php?id=12

$ 750 for a room that gives you serious depressions.

That's no apartment, that's a butcher shop.
Who is renting this kind of shit ?

Short term new arrivals like me a couple years ago. My apt didn't even look that good. IME Cambodians have a natural distaste for comfortable seating. It was however strategically located.

I find the hometown hotel on street 172 for $15/night ( $300/month) perfectly acceptable for my stays in PP for the last 5 years

Eating out for one is as cheap as eating ( if not cheaper) at home so dont need a kitchen for short stays

I dont need all the fancy shit

Nordic House on 136 is quite good and they'll go down to $11/day long term. Great breakfasts. LINK: http://www.nordic-cambodia.com/

Pardon me, but isn't the Walkabout hotel side a noted shithole now. I don't think they've renovated anything in years. All you have to do is look around the bar in daylight. Better seen at night through beer goggles. However, behind it on 174 is Blue Tongue, a very nice set of rooms. (No smoking though.)

Yea, OP, don't stay at a brothel in sleaze town. Look at Sundance Saloon on St 172. They got a pool. Great bar.

There's a little guest house on street 104 (now street "Seng Thuon" near the post office) called "Velkommen" guest house.

Owner is Swedish I guess. Very decent place, beautiful and tasteful rooms with locker, absolutely clean but not cheap (I guess $ 30 a night)
