Two day wild goose chase looking for Iranian Embassy, where is it?

Post by britscienceteacher »

My Google Maps doesn't seem to be working. On Friday I got an address in the North West of Addis Ababa. The taxis didn't seem to know where it was, so we ended up walking there (I suppose it does keep you fit...). Anyway, it wasn't there. The map had given the wrong address. Today I found it on my paper map (in the South West of the city), but again it wasn't there. I try to avoid posting online with questions like this, but it is so useful in such situations. I can now connect to what looks like the embassy website but when I put the address in Google Maps it doesn't want to display road names, which makes it particularly difficult to find places. So I searched the road name (BISRATE GABRAEL ROAD - shown below) but only find that it's the name of a church and a school (I can't get it to display the embassy location or the road name). Is there such a road? A google map image would be much appreciated.

I'm thinking of heading to the Turkish embassy to look at their visas too a bit later, maybe it'll be easier?

Relevant Google map images highly appreciated.

Addis Ababa? WTF county are you looking for an embassy in? There is no Iran embassy in Cambodia. Is it Bangkok you tried walking to? Lay off the crystals maybe your posts become more coherent.

Why does he keep posting here for advice on finding embassies in Addis Ababa? Last month he was looking for the Argentinian embassy.

If your British then Turkey will give you a visa on arrival for 30 days.

Likewise, if your British - Iran isn't the 1st country on my list to visit. Plus, I doubt you will be able to obtain a Iranian visa unless you return to the UK and apply in person at the Iranian embassy.

Good Luck.
