Drunk Teen Gets Both Legs Amputated by Train

Breaking news from Cambodia can be found here. CEO often finds Khmer news and translates it into English for our readers if it is interesting to expats, locals, Cambodians living abroad and anyone who wants to stay informed of the latest local and international news stories about Cambodia and our neighbors in South East Asia. There are many sources for Khmer news articles and they can all be found here in one place. Most of the media comes out of Phnom Penh, Siem Reap or Sihanoukville, but we cover national Cambodian news from all provinces.

I don't know what you mean by cultural. My guess is that it's because train tracks are flat and dry and don't have any undergrowth on them.

Poor kid. Only 18 too. I'm sure I did just as dumb things when I was that age and drinking with my friends. Seems like nothing more than a tragic accident.

Being 18 and facing the rest of your life without any legs is harsh enough, let alone having to to do it in Cambodia. :(

Look at the bright side. He is likely to be given credit wherever he goes to drink. What are the chances he ever does a runner ?

NB what happened to the shoes?

How do we know it wasn't on purpose:

"Life is too important to take seriously."

"Life does not cease to be funny when people die any more than it ceases to be serious when people laugh."
