Chinese Police Request Arrests of PRC Nationals in Cambodia
Phnom Penh: At 2:00 pm on September 29, 2018, at the request of Chinese authorities, Phnom Penh Police and officials from the Department of Immigration arrested 16 Chinese nationals at the California Hotel restaurant, Russian Federation boulevard, Por Sen Chey District, Phnom Penh.
Five of the sixteen were eventually released, but the others were maintained in detention at the Department of Immigration, pending their extradition which has been demanded by the Chinese police.

Phnom Penh, Cambodia News: A 34-year-old Chinese man, YANG THING HAI, was detained on September 27,2018, at 10:30 am, at Rivera condo in Phnom Penh, for living illegally in Cambodia.
Tonle Basac police worked with the Immigration department police and Chamkarmorn police, led by Mr. Yem Sienghai, the clerk of Phnom Penh court and Mr. Khun Lea, deputy of the investigation department and procedure.

A Chinese man has been detained by Cambodian immigration officials at the request of the Chinese authorities.
8:55 pm 1 October 2018
A Chinese national named "SUO KANG", a 26-year-old man, has been detained by police at 17:00 near the corner of Chroy Changva bridge, Chroy Changvar commune, Phnom Penh.
Currently the Chinese man has been referred to the Immigration Department to apply the procedures of the law.

Why allocate those resources to these guys in particular? Who are they and why do they want them back so badly? The kind of technology needed to do that is thus deployed, in the field, in Cambodia and obviously working...thus, what is really going on here? Why were the local forces, that you cannot get off their ass to do anything, snap to so suddenly on these PRC citizens? Does this represent a new tool in local security forces arsenal that can or will be deployed on everything?
After the recent election to a single party state isn't anyone curious if this represents something larger?
