Coffee-maybe food-a nice view=?

Post by IraHayes »

Since CostaCoffee and Gloria Jeans have now both disappeared from the riverside due to extortionate rent or redevelopment (Gloria Jeans) I have been looking for a nice spot for coffee and maybe some food on the riverside. But I do like a nice view and surroundings. My mother smokes and vapes so an outside terrace/balcony area is a must.

My best find to date is Yi Sang at the bottom of the riverside area. Any other suggestions would be most welcome. If it is a roof top place it must have an elevator, like Le Grand Mekong hotel. Which I have looked at already.

Yes indeed they do. Eaten at most of them and they are all right on the roadside.
I am looking for a certain place that i may have overlooked. One that isn't right next to the road but on the riverside.
Let me explain what I liked about the 2 places I mention in my OP.
1. both were right on the riverside.
2. both had a 1st floor balcony or terrace with shade that offered lovely views of the river (Gloria Jeans) or the park in front of the palace and the river (old Costa Coffee place that was next to Pizza Company on the 1st floor).
3. both were on the 1st floor (UK 1st not US 1st floor btw)

I know the riverside very well and am simply asking here on the off chance there is a place I may have overlooked that ticks all my little boxes. I am leaning towards that being unlikely and will probably introduce my mother to the Yi Sang restaurant.
