Second Fatal Accident this Year at TaTai Falls, Koh Kong

Koh Kong, Cambodia News: A young man from Koh Kong slipped into rapids while visiting the Ta Tai waterfall on 23 September 2018, and according to this morning's information, his body has yet to be recovered despite extensive searches by army and police. The missing man has been identified as 24 year old Chak Chan Chav.

Ta Tai waterfall is a semi-natural site located in Ta Tai village, about 20 kilometers east of Koh Kong provincial town along National Road 48. The waterfall has two stages. The first stage is 5 to 6 meters high; the second stage is 12 to 15 meters high.

Careful on those slippery rocks.

I know of two accidents at the Sihanoukville waterfalls. One where a girl slipped over and broke her arm. Another where a girl slipped over and knocked out her front teeth.

I have seen people walk in places where if they did slip over they would go over the edge, which would at least result in several broken bones.

Some people take more risks when with a group of friends.

Children should be supervised.
