Unhappy Wives Seek Police Help with Gambling Husbands
Phnom Penh, Cambodia News: On September 23, 2018, Phnom Penh police cracked down on a local coffee shop, where the customers were engaging in online betting on cockfights in Domnak Thom village, Khan Meanchey, Phnom Penh.
Police explained that a number of the gamblers' wives were unhappy that their husbands were taking all the household money to spend it at the cafe, placing online bets on cockfights shown on TV. The women said that their husbands ignored their complaints, so they got together and went to the police to file a charge against the shop for illegal gambling.
As a result of the complaint, the police raided the cafe and detained 24 people who were taken down to the police station for a seance of reeducation.
