In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

Looks interesting. There have been a couple very disturbing videos posted on Youtube showing Indonesian soldiers treating indigenous men there horribly, as they were thought to be part of a separatist movement.

I thought about taking a trip to Papua New Guinea years ago for the novelty of it, but was dissuaded by so many reports of chaos and violence in Port Moresby.

I have a good friend who was born and grew up in PNG, won't go back these days. For the reasons discussed here, and similar.

PNG really hit the skids when Gough Whitlam felt that the australian armed forces should no longer be allowed to maintain their law and order as doing so was too 'colonial'. The Australians thus left, leaving the new government ill - equipped to deal with the country's issues.

Which tends to indicate there was no exit strategy.

Indeed. It also highlights the dangers of acting on ideals without taking the whole picture into account.

Anybody have a link for the full movie?

Reminds me of a trip I took in 76 to some spots in S.Africa/SW Africa, but obviously not such horrific acts.
Jesus loves you...Mexico is great, right? ;)
