Phnom Penh, Cambodia News: An illegal Chinese company called " BTKTrade Digital International Assets Trading Center", located in Sangkat Sras Chok, Phnom Penh, was shut down completely by the authorities.

On August 24, 2018, the national bank, the securities and exchange commission of Cambodia, and the General Police of the National Police Force went to check the administrative work of the Chinese company. The team met a Chinese company representative, Ding Nan (Anna), an administration manager, Liu Xu, and a Cambodian translator, Hi Songchay and checked on 298 computers.

According to lieutenant Tou Meachdevid, the money collected from people to invest on the Blockchain system was a high risk for people who didn't know much about the technology and who might be scammed by the company who collected the coin and money investment.
Authorities have advised that:
1. The business was shut down completely until getting the approval for the legal license.
2. All the advertisement that convinces people to invest in the Cryptocurrency is prohibited.
3. The business logo must be removed.
4. The company must request a business investment and legal license.

At the moment, all the advertising for any actions concerning the collecting of money for the investment of cryptocurrency or digital assets is illegal in Cambodia.
