Bavet: 3 Chinese Arrested for Beating Chinese Man Over Debt

Svay Rieng, Cambodia News: Another Chinese man has been beaten up by his compatriots for not repaying a debt. On 26 August 2018, three men of Chinese nationality were arrested by Bavet police after they beat up the victim, who was accused of failing to pay back 5000yuans that he had borrowed.

The three suspects are all temporary residents at Bavet Kandal Village, Sangkat Bavet. Two of them are online staff and the third man is a chef at the same establishment. The victim, identified as 29 year old Gillian Mei Tao, is also living and working at the same place as the suspects.
The three suspects have been detained at the Bavet Administrative Police Station.
