Rare Irrawaddy Dolphin Found Killed by Plastic Waste
15 August 2018
Preah Sihanouk Province: A body of a decomposing Irrawaddy dolphin was found washed up on Koh Rong Sanloem today, 15 August. Investigators say that the dolphin appears to have died from the ingestion of plastic bags and other rubbish.
Irrawaddy dolphins are a rare species of river dolphin also found in the sea in parts of South East Asia. They do not have a typical dolphin beak, but can be identified from their rounded melon head.
